Day 4 started out great. I decided to go to the floating market, maybe do a canal boat ride. I ended up getting lost in the maze of streets that went from the main road to the canal. A very helpful young construction worker helped me find where I needed to be (The Thai people are very helpful, and can sus out when you appear to be lost. Yeah, not hard…). After walking for what seemed like hours in the hot sun, I was pretty tired. I sat on the canal and had lunch then decided to take a motorbike ride (on the back) to the subway. Easier, right? I was HOT and TIRED. However, the rider got turned around two times, so I didn’t feel so bad about my initial experience.
By the time I got back to the hotel, I was exhausted and realized that it was my 3rd full day here. That’s typically the day I get really tired after traveling long distances and navigating extreme time zones, so decided the best thing to do was go down and get a Thai massage. I knew things were going to be different when I walked into a small room with a 4 inch pad on the floor and given “pajamas” to put on. I was pushed, pulled and twisted into positions that I would have said were not possible. It was AMAZING! I will be going back in a couple of days. Especially, as this bit of heaven only cost $6.38 (including tip) for 60 minutes. Yeah, I might move here just for the massages.
Calling it a day and catching up on reading and relaxing in the hotel garden.
