Ho Chi Minh City – too hot to handle

Hot and chaotic!

OK, I planned to explore this city in the same way that I’ve explored others; lot’s of walking, taking in the sights and making my way to landmarks. Not so fast there GIRLIE…I got out before 9am to stroll around before it got to hot. It was nowhere near 90 degrees yet. I walked 20 minutes and then had to turn and go back to the apartment for a shower and change of clothes. That 92 degrees feels more like a sauna. I’m not sure how much sightseeing I will get done, so I am happy that I have an apartment, rather than a hotel room, to spend the next few days in. Even the pool is too hot to get into!

This city is loud and chaotic with motorbike whizzing between cars and running red lights. EVERYONE honks because most of the time you have to walk on the street to get around parked bikes, tables with people eating and various other blocks on the sidewalks. The chaos actually seems controlled once you get the hang of the traffic activity. The city is vibrant with new and old. Lots of French influence in the architecture and more selfies being taken than anywhere I’ve seen anyplace else.
