The last few days in Da Nang have been tough. The weather has been cloudy and rainy, so I’ve not been able to get out as much as I typically do. I did take a tour up to Ba Na Hills to see the Golden Bridge. Unfortunately, by the time we got to the top of the mountain, following a 20 minute tram ride, it was so cloudy & rainy that you couldn’t see ANYTHING. I ended up leaving the tour and getting a GRAB back to the hotel. Really bummed, as this was one of the places I was wanting to see. Oh well!

I
t continues to be crappy weather, so I end up spending more time in my room. While getting in some reading and Netflix time is is nice, I start to struggle with missing my family and friends, especially my grandsons. I spend some time asking myself if this is something that I want to do. Particularly, knowing that if it were raining at home, I would be settled into my couch, comfortable and cozy. My hotel is very nice and comfortable, but sometimes it’s tough not being surrounded by my books and favorite things.
Knowing that I need to refocus, and get out of my own head, I head out for dinner. I find a biker bar (yeah, that means scooter) called The Dirty Finger. The nice thing about the place is that it feels American, ran by Australians. I had a hamburger and french fries, listed to English being spoken and had a glass of wine with a nice man from Australia. OK, that was much needed….and, I’m back on track, ready for my next adventure
One of the cool things about Da Nang are the bridges that cross the Hàn River. Here are a few of them.
